Michael Angelo Beauty Parlor

Michael Angelo ~ Founder, Creative Director

Historically, Michelangelo was a Renaissance sculptor, painter, architect and poet, Wonderland was located underground, and Alice reached it by traveling down a rabbit hole. Today, Michael Angelo is a hairdresser, makeup artist, photographer and designer, Wonderland is located in the heart of NYC’s Meat Packing District, and while you don’t have to travel down a rabbit hole to get there, when you arrive you will be transported to an imaginative playground, where fantasy becomes reality and beauty dreams come true.
One of the hottest beauty destinations in the country, every facet of Wonderland is designed to support and encourage creativity. Whether working with Michael or his Creative Team, Wonderland’s guests all experience his visionary approach to beauty—whimsical, smart, sexy and fun.
Wonderland’s unique design reflects these values—from glittering floors and a fuschia chaise lounge to mermaid Barbies frolicking in a mylar waterfall. The boutique offers a carefully curated array of the most exciting makeup on the market, intoxicating fragrances, über-chic jewelry, art books and design objects and, of course, the very best hair products in the universe.
The members of Wonderland’s Creative Team are as diverse, distinct and dazzling as the space itself. Michael meticulously grooms artists who thoughtfully fuse the vision of Wonderland with an individual style all their own. Because of this, they have cultivated a cult-like following of fiercely loyal clients who flock to Wonderland seeking the absolute best of beauty.

Supermodels and celebrities come to Michael Angelo because, well, he makes them look and feel like supermodels and celebrities. The secret is this: that’s why everyone else comes to him, too. Whether you are Agyness Deyn or a visitor from Alabama, when you walk out of Wonderland, you will look and feel ready for a red carpet. Whether he’s preparing you for a Vogue cover shoot or a night out on the town, Michael approaches each cut, color and makeup application as he is creating an artwork. His extraordinary talent, discerning eye and warm personality make everyone who walks through his doors feel as though they are bringing their own personal fantasy to life. This is his gift. He shares it generously and with love.

Single Process

A Single Process creates even, gleaming color from roots to ends, and offers 100% coverage of any and all natural pigments of the hair. Multiple formulations may be used to create balance between root and end shades and dimension can be added through nuanced toning. Please allow at least 90 minutes for a Single Process.
Single Process
A Single Process should be touched up at the root every four to six weeks, and the ends generally need refreshing every eight to twelve weeks. Please allow at least 90 minutes for a Single Process.
$160-$200
Single Process Retouch
A Single Process should be touched up at the root every four to six weeks. Please allow at least 75 minutes for a Single Process Retouch.
$110-$150

Double Process

If your hair color is too dark to achieve the color of your dreams with a Single Process, then a Double Process is for you! A Double Process is a two-step process that involves lightening the hair first and then tinting the hair to the desired tone. A Double Process should be touched up every two to four weeks. Please allow at least 105 minutes for a Double Process.
$150-$225

Gloss

Glosses are less of a commitment than a Single Process, yet still long-lasting…an ideal way to audition a color that is brighter or deeper than your natural tone. Perfect for adding lots of shine to natural color or to Highlights that may have lost their luster due to exposure to the elements. Please allow at least 45 minutes for a Gloss.
$110-$150

Highlights

With a Partial Highlight, selected sections of the hair are lightened to frame the face, add contrast to the color, or to lend more dimension to the Cut. When a Partial Highlight just isn’t enough, a Full Highlight should do the trick! With a Full Highlight, highlights are generally placed from the hairline to the nape, resulting in a more evenly distributed sprinkling of sparkling color. Highlights should be touched up every ten to twelve weeks. Please allow at least 105 minutes for a Partial Highlight; Full Highlights will require at least 120 minutes.
$180-$350

Color Correction

Wonderland to the rescue! A Color Correction will save your sugar, honey, iced tea if you’ve made a mistake attempting to color your hair at home (Oops!) or if your hair has been made a less than desirable hue by a well intentioned person! A Color Correction may also be needed for guests making a drastic color change and can involve any combination of Single Processes, Double Processes, Partial Highlights and/or Full Highlights.
The price is commensurate with the complexity of the correction, please visit us for a consultation.
